WOMEN OF CONCERN AWARDS LUNCHEON NEW YORK
Thursday 6th June 2024
Reception 11:00 / Luncheon 12.00
Rainbow Room
30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York
Banshee were delighted to be asked to partner with this year’s Women of Concern Awards Luncheon, celebrating the accomplishments of women and girls around the world. Every year, Concern proudly recognises the achievements of exceptional women who are using their platform to amplify the voices of women and girls worldwide.
Banshee founder, Ruby Slevin, not only attended the event but also donated a bespoke suit to the luncheon’s fund raising auction, in aid of women worldwide. In addition, Banshee had the honour of dressing the event’s MC and Auctioneer, Sophie Colgan. Originally from Ireland, Sophie has been working with nonprofits and charities in New York for 8 years.
Wearing, in her words, “The Suit of Dreams at the Event of Dreams”, reflecting on the event via her Instagram account, Sophie said, “Not sure that my words can sum up the inspiration, love, energy, friendship and generosity in the Rainbow Room for the Women of Concern Annual NYC Luncheon, where all proceeds go to Women & Girls across 26 Countries in extreme poverty.
It was an absolute honour to be MC & Auctioneer and to have raised a phenomenal amount of money for Concerns humanitarian work across the globe. And to have been wearing THIS SUIT; a bespoke Irish female owned brand made by the sensational Ruby Slevin - I don’t know if I’ll ever recover!
Ruby is undoubtedly one of the most talented and hard working women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you to everyone who made Thursday so special, especially the wonderful Women of Concern in the room. You’ll find me on my sofa, thinking about this suit, forever more. Xoxo Soph”
